The show takes a group of strangers marooned in a remote location from anywhere between 26 to 39 days. The group is divided into tribes. The tribes must work together to compete in challenges against each other.
These challenges will reward winning tribes with food, tools, comfort or immunity from elimination. The losers go to a tribal council where they must eliminate a member.
Over time, alliances are formed within the tribe, and groups must work together to vote off bigger threats to increase their likelihood of making it to the end. As challenges and Tribal Councils continue, the original tribes are whittled down to 10 members. At this time, the two tribes are combined into one.
The tribe members continue to compete in challenges against one another, maybe keeping prior alliances or possibly forming new ones. Tribal Councils continue to vote members out of the tribe, but now those voted off form a Jury.
When it comes down to the final two (or three), it’s the Jury that selects the winner. This is where prior actions or broken alliances can come back to haunt the final two (or three). The winner is awarded $1 million (USD) and the title of Sole Survivor.

Probst recently told TVInsider “Because they have the benefit of watching the seasons just before them, Season 46 taught the Season 47 cast a lot about the dangers of hidden immunity idols”.
Season 46 holds the record of most immunity idols flushed out in one season, after five players who were blindsided with idols in their pockets.
Since Survivor began in 2001, it’s been hosted by Jeff Probst. In addition to his role as host, he is also an executive producer, responsible for casting and making this show. Probst’s love and passion for Survivor is evident on every single episode of the show.

Survivor over the last few seasons has had a back-to-basics approach.
It’s ditching returning players and season-long twists in favour for a condensed version of the game we all love. Traditionally, a game that is 39 days long has been trimmed down to just 26 days.
Survivor Season 47 sees a homecoming as the show revisits its permanent setting, Mamanuca Island in Fiji.
While its initial 16 years took viewers to diverse corners of the globe the series shifted gears with Season 33, anchoring itself in the picturesque landscapes, pristine waters and stunning beaches of Fiji.
